Rémi Dewière (remi.dewiere@orange.fr) received his PhD at the Institut of the AcAfrican Worlds (IMAF) of the University of Paris 1 - Panthéon-Sorbonne. His research activities focus on early modern history of Borno Sultanate (Nigeria) and its diplomatic relations. Among his contributions on the topic, “Le Discours historique de l’estat du royaume de Borno, genèse et construction d’une histoire du Borno par un captif de Tripoli au XVIIe siècle,” Afriques (in press).
