Alessandro Gori (alessandro.gori@unifi.it) is Associate professor of Arabic language and literature of the Department of Cross-Cultural and Regional Studies at the University of Copenhagen.. His main research areas include: Islamic literary traditions in the Horn of Africa; modern and classical Arabic literature; Islamic manuscripts; Islamic heritage in Africa.Previously he has been full-time researcher at the University of Florence where he taught Islamic Studies and Arabic Language and Literature. “AG heads as Principal Investigator the five year project IslHornAfr: Islam in the Horn of Africa, A Comparative Literary Approach (http://www.islhornafr.eu) funded by the European Research Council (Advanced Grant 322849)”.
