Ali Kadem Kalati (ali_kalatiit@yahoo.it) is lecturer in Arabic language at the University of Sassari. He is a specialist in the Arabic grammar in the early Islamic period. Kalati received a PhD in Arabic literature with a dissertation on the importance of Sībawayh’s works. He also worked on the the history of the spread of endowed institutions of learning and teaching Arabic language in Italy and Russia. Kalati is a cultural and linguistic mediator for the public administration in Italy.
