Michele Petrone (PhD) studied al-Suyūṭī’s oeuvre and plagiarism issues in late Mamluk era. He is currently post-doc research fellow at the Università degli Studi di Firenze, working on the project IslHornAfr: Islam in the Horn of Africa, A Comparative Literary Approach (
